How to make any event a success...

With the party season fully behind us, you might think that the events season is also over and yet for many it has only just begun.

Memorable events don’t just happen. They combine gorgeous décor in the perfect setting, delicious catering, and crowd-pleasing entertainment through meticulous planning by professionals. It takes a discerning eye to pull off the perfect celebration.

Jenny Bones, Founder and Events Producer at Sister Events, shares her top tips on where to start in making any event a success:

The Venue and location

There is no end of choice for events venues across Kent and East Sussex. Whether it’s a rustic barn, a stylish hotel or a quirky theme park, there are some wonderful choices. Be sure to choose somewhere that reflects your brand, message or personal style if it’s a private event. Consider where your guests are coming from and how they will get there. Not only are the transport links important, but the location itself can be a draw.

The Caterer and other suppliers

Find out if catering is ‘in-house’ or brought in. Known as an ‘external caterer’, be sure to check if they have worked in the venue before. Venues all come with their own quirks and a caterer needs to know what they are entitled to use within the building. Using local suppliers is always recommended and they may be invaluable if you need last minute help with anything.

The Price

When comparing the price of an event, be sure you are comparing ‘like-with-like’. Whether VAT is included is often not immediately clear. If you are an individual it may be more expensive than at first glance.

Sister Events can provide event specialists to help with all aspects of events and venues. Whether you need help creating seamless social and corporate events or a fresh eye cast over your existing events venue, Sister will listen to your goals and help pave the way to success.
